Archaeologists are detectives, searching for clues to answer questions about the past: when was a site occupied and how was it used; how did Native peoples hunt, fish, and use plants; what did the environment look like 10,000 or 5,000 or even 500 years ago? To answer these and other questions, archaeologists undertake research by excavating sites. On this self-guided tour, you will visit various exhibits, using your eyes (and brains) to solve some mysteries and learn more about how archaeologists work. You will be provided with a map and instructions, work books, and some tools to help you become archaeological detectives. Exploration kits, to use on the tour, are limited in number so reserve some when you phone to make a group reservation. Banquet lunches for adult groups can be arranged with 30 days notice. A deposit is required to confirm banquets with a 30-day cancellation notice for deposit refund.
Menu selections are required three weeks in advance with a final guarantee 72 hours in advance.
