Open House
September 26, 2009:
Teachers and their families are invited to discover the Pequot Museum. The day includes music by Emma Jo Mills Brennan (Wampanoag ) and her jazz ensemble, Native games, stories and videos in the Children’s Library, and presentations on primary sources in the Research Library and Archives. Choose from two tours: 16th c. Pequot Village or Exhibit Highlights. Resource packets available. Teachers and up to three family members receive free admission with presentation of a school or union ID. Teacher Preview
The Museum field trip experience is greatly enhanced when classroom teachers take the opportunity to tour the Museum exhibits prior to their field trip. We invite teachers planning field trips to make site visits at a reduced teacher preview price of $8 each. Advance reservations are required. Call (860) 396-6839.



Professional Development Workshops
Working on curriculum development and lesson planning on Native culture and history?  The museum is an excellent teaching resource. We can assist you. These workshops are designed specifically for elementary and secondary grade teachers and include a resource packet and a visit to the research libraries. Cost: $45.00 per person non-members and $40.00 per-person museum members. Call (860) 396-6839
