Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center

Coming this Fall, 2007:
Teachers, Principals, Education Coordinators are invited to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Centers’ annual open house. Meet the Museum’s Education Staff and participate in our new and exciting programs. Take a guided tour of the Museum exhibits and learn first-hand how you can incorporate a visit to the Pequot Museum into your class curriculum. Enjoy some wonderful snacks prepared by the Museum Food & Beverage Staff. A lucky teacher will win a “Free” Museum Educator Membership and all teachers will receive a “complimentary” goody bag for their class. Participation is free, but reservations are required. Group Sales Staff are available on-site, so bring your field trip date requests with you. We look forward to seeing you there! Watch your mailbox for more details.

Teacher Preview
The Museum field trip experience is greatly enhanced when classroom teachers take the opportunity to tour the Museum exhibits prior to their field trip. We invite teachers planning field trips to make site visits at a reduced teacher preview price of $8 each. Advance reservations are required. Call 860-396-6839.

Professional Development Workshops

Working on curriculum development and lesson planning on Native culture and history? The museum is an excellent teaching resource. We can assist you. These workshops are designed specifically for elementary and secondary grade teachers and include a resource packet and a visit to the research libraries. Cost: $35.00 per person non-members and $25.00 per-person museum members . Call 860-396-6839
