We Shall Remain
American Experience
Premiers on PBS April 2009

The We Shall Remain series is produced by American Experience in association with Native American Public Telecommunications for WGBH Boston. Episode 1, After the Mayflower focuses on the relationships between Wampanoag people and English colonists during the first years of contact. The Event Kit for Libraries contains many great ideas for related library and school programming.   Download the 28-page library event kit, for free, at www.pbs.org/weshallremain/libraries. Included are Guidelines for Evaluating Media about Native Peoples which were adapted from the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center’s Evaluative Criteria for Books about Native Americans (2006), and the American Indian Library Association publication “I” Is For Inclusion: The Portrayal of Native Americans in Books for Young People (2007).
