Here is an opportunity to examine interesting exhibit materials while talking with knowledgeable staff members. Learn about Native culture, regalia, furs, and games.

Northeastern Beadwork

Join Native artist and beadworker Venus Reels (Mashpee/Pequot) for a demonstration of Northeastern style beadwork. Examples of her work are seen in the Museum’s exhibits. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.

Friday, Aug. 13, 11 am–3 pm
Native Games and Sports

Enjoy traditional and contemporary Native games: sign up for the ring-and-pin contest; use an atlatl; join a game of shinny or lacrosse; make a buzz toy. You may win a prize by participating in four different activities. Take a Native-use plant tour with Museum educators. Enjoy sassafras tea. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.
