Strawberry Thanksgiving Celebration
Join in the traditional Native American festivities marking the first berry of the seasonthe strawberrywith games, music and dance, a puppet show and Native storytellers Matoaka Little Eagle and Powhatan Swift Eagle. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.

Bus Trip to Historic Bethlehem, Pa
Museum Members Only.
Join fellow Museum members for a visit to Historic Bethlehem, PA, where Moravians established a community and built a cultural center in the 1740s. From here Moravian missionaries spread out across the United States, establishing mission settlements among Native peoples, including the Schaghticoke and Mahican tribes of northwestern Connecticut. Kayaking Through Pequot History

Paddle down the scenic Mystic River and experience sites of cultural and historical importance for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, as Senior Museum Researcher Jason Mancini and Candyce King (Mashantucket Pequot) guide the way. $50/$40 for Museum members. American Red and Black

This award-winning film directed by Alicia Woods follows six individuals of African and Native American heritage as they travel throughout the United States, reflecting upon the personal and complex issues of mixed ancestry and racism within their communities of color. Museum Executive Director Kimberly Hatcher-White (Mashantucket Pequot) introduces the film and afterwards shares her personal story of returning to the reservation during a discussion with the audience about the film. For ages 16 years and older. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.

Family Archaeology Adventures

Become an archaeologist for a day as you work beside museum scientists excavating an historical site on the tribal reservation. Search for ancient artifacts and learn to analyze what you dig up. $25/$15 for Museum members. Register: (800) 411-9671.
