Members Only. Library and Archive staff take Museum members on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Research Library, Children’s Library and Archives and Special Collections. Book Author Challenges Museum Policies
Author Karen Cody Cooper (Cherokee) discusses her new book, Spirited Encounters, which addresses Native American grievances over how museums have collected and displayed Indian materials, and introduces the film, The Long Journey Home, about the repatriation of Cheyenne Indian human remains from the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre. Discussion and film are held in the auditorium. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.
