Sisters of the Great Lakes: Art of Native American Women

This special exhibit visually addresses the complexities of being an American Indian in the modern world through diverse artwork including pottery, stained glass, paintings, sculpture, quill work and black ash basketry. Guided tours offered Saturdays at 2 pm starting Oct. 11. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.

Preserving Native Culture through Art

Examine the importance of art as a means of preserving culture and discover new strategies for using art to teach about Native America in this hands-on, daylong workshop. Teachers can earn .7 CEUs. $55/$45 for Museum members. Register by Oct. 17: (860) 396-6839.
