Museum Accessibility Features:

Infrared Communications System:

Our infrared audio guides provide a complete museum tour for visitors who are blind or visually impaired, offering detailed descriptions of exhibits throughout the museum. Additionally, a specialized Pequot Village audio tour immerses visitors in the sights, sounds, and historical context of the recreated 17th-century village.

Closed Captioning:

Available for videos and films within the museum to support visitors with hearing impairments.

Parking

Handicapped Parking:

Designated handicapped parking spaces are located directly in front of the museum for convenient access.

General Parking:

Ample free parking is available in the large lot on the south side of Pequot Trail.

Service Animals:

Only service animals are permitted within the museum premises.

Entrances:

The main entrance serves as the accessible entrance for all visitors, including those with mobility needs. It is located next to the designated handicapped parking spaces for easy access.

Additional Information:

While most areas of the museum are wheelchair accessible, some sections, such as the replicated Indian village with stone flooring, may present challenges.
