Museum Policies

In order to ensure your experience with us is pleasant, we ask that all Museum visitors comply with our established policies.

Photography & Video

Museum visitors may use hand-held cameras to take non-flash photographs for private, noncommercial use in designated areas of our permanent galleries

Photography Disclaimer

The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center may photograph, film, or videotape visitors for educational and promotional purposes. Entry into the Museum is implied consent for the use of the visitor’s likeness, voice, or video image for educational and promotional purposes.

Caring For Our Exhibits

Refrain from touching exhibits.

Shirt & Shoes

Shirt and shoes are required (no wheeled shoes).

Food & Beverages

Food and beverages are allowed only in the Pequot Café, Gathering Space, and outdoor terrace.

Cell Phones

Silence cell phones.

Animals

Only service animals are allowed in the Museum.

Children

Children ages 15 and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times while inside the Museum.

Items to Check at the Beginning of your Visit

  • Backpacks
  • Shopping bags
  • Oversized bags
  • Umbrellas
  • Baby-carrier backpacks (unless convertible to the front) and oversized or jogging strollers

  • Medical bags/backpacks are allowed in exhibits. Please request an identification tag at the main entrance counter or the security desk at Group Entrance.
