Schemitzun Event

Friday, August 28, 2026 @ 5:00 PM

We invite everyone to join us for our annual family-friendly celebration as we usher in the 2026 harvest season and give thanks to the Creator for our rich heritage. This event will honor our ancestors, warriors, veterans, and Elders. Located at the Mashantucket Pequot Cultural Grounds in the heart of one of America’s oldest Indian reservations, Schemitzun features traditional and contemporary tribal dance exhibitions, drums, live music, and plenty of authentic Native American-made crafts.

Tickets may be purchased on site the day of the event or online. The museum will be closed on Saturday, August 29th in honor of Schemitzun. Shuttle transportation will take place from the museum parking lot transporting guests to the powwow grounds. For event details, schedules, and ticket information, visit https://www.schemitzun.com/
