Join us at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum on Saturday, June 27, for a solstice celebration hosted entirely on our Farmstead. Enjoy a sweet seasonal treat, explore Indigenous art and culture, and experience a family‑friendly day filled with hands‑on activities, live traditional clambake demonstration, and traditional song & dance.

This special event features live animals from Xen’s Critters, and a Turtle Touch Tank presented by Mystic Aquarium bringing our agricultural story to life and creating an immersive, welcoming space for guests of all ages.

Meechooôk Farm Table

Experience a seasonal showcase of Mashantucket-grown abundance featured at our market. Visit our MPTN Agricultural Departments informational table to learn about indigenous foodways.  Fresh offerings from the  Meechoook Farm: plant starts, produce, honey, eggs, strawberry plants, and maple syrup will be available for purchase.

Guests can explore handcrafted artwork, jewelry, cultural items, and contemporary pieces made by Native makers whose work reflects both tradition and modern expression.


Native Artisans & Vendor Marketplace

At the heart of the Strawberry Moon Living Exhibition, the Native Artisans & Vendor marketplace transforms the Museum’s Farmstead into a vibrant gathering place for Indigenous creativity. Guests can explore handcrafted artwork, jewelry, cultural items, and contemporary pieces made by Native makers whose work reflects both tradition and modern expression.


Traditional Clambake Demonstration

Observe an authentic Northeastern coastal clambake demonstration brought to life through traditional Indigenous methods and the deep ecological knowledge of our land and waters. This immersive demonstration highlights the time‑honored practices that have sustained our people for generations, offering guests a meaningful connection to place, culture, and community.


Farm Friends Petting Zoo by Xen’s Critters

Xen’s Critters brings a joyful mix of farm animals to the Strawberry Moon Living Exhibition. Families can enter the corral and spend time with baby goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea pigs—an inviting, gentle experience for visitors of all ages.


Song, Dance & Storytelling

Join us on the Farmstead for an uplifting Song & Dance experience featuring Annawon Weeden and the Yootay Singers. Their performances share stories, teachings, and the spirit of the Strawberry Thanksgiving through drum and song.

Experience the Art of Storytelling, where we share seasonal teachings, family‑friendly tales, and the living traditions of the Strawberry Thanksgiving. This feature creates a welcoming space for visitors of all ages to listen, imagine, and connect through stories that carry eastern woodland tradition forward.


Arts, Crafts, & Fun

The Arts & Crafts area on the Farmstead invites visitors of all ages to get creative and explore hands‑on activities inspired by the season and eastern woodland culture. Guests can make simple take‑home projects, learn about traditional designs and symbols, and enjoy a welcoming space where imagination and cultural expression come together.


Sweet Seasonal Tastings

From morning bites to afternoon delights, this tasting feature invites visitors to savor the flavors of early summer while exploring the living traditions at the heart of the exhibition.
